God asks us to make our requests known to him. When praying on our own becomes too challenging, we are here to support you to fulfill the promise that “Whenever two or more are gathered, there I am in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20). Email the Parish Office or call 608-846-5726 for a pastoral visit or to be added to our Prayer List where our parishioners regularly pray for one another in their time of need.
Our goal is to care for the spirit of our parishioners during times of joy and sorrow. Our spiritual support goes beyond our regular programs and services within the confines of our church buildings and parish structures. Our ministry extends to the homes, facilities, hospitals, and other places that care for the spirit if needed.
Our support to families goes beyond the funeral. Often times the weeks and months that follow a funeral are more emotionally and spiritually challenging than the funeral planning itself. It is important to dignify the emotions of grief without losing the hope of our faith. We can provide bereavement visits and resources for those seeking a support group. To honor those loved ones who have passed, we have a Mass of Remembrance each year in November around All Saints and All Souls Day.
It is important that those who are not able to come to Mass remain connected to the community of faith. Eucharistic Ministers make visits to the home for those who have no other way of receiving communion. Our parishes are looking for more volunteers to bring communion to the home bound. If you are interested in being a Eucharistic Minister or receive a home visit, please email Fr. Jared or call 608-839-1000.
Being in the hospital can be a time of great need to lean on our faith. Regular communication is made between our parishes and hospitals to see if any parishioners have been admitted. If you would like to have a pastoral visit please mention to the hospital staff that you are a member of St. Olaf or St. Joseph.
